Professional Summary

Mitch Bornyasz,

PG, CEG

Mr. Bornyasz has over 15 years professional experience in the geosciences with specific areas of skill in Quaternary geology, soils-stratigraphy, geomorphology, geoarchaeology, sedimentology, and engineering geology.  These skills have been applied to the engineering-geologic practice through his contribution as the lead geologist for studies involving commercial properties, residential communities, utilities, and public works throughout southern California. In addition to recognizing land-use opportunities and constraints, he develops geotechnical mitigation alternatives for geologically sound project design recommendations.  Supplementary to having geotechnical expertise, he is an experienced soils-geomorphologist proficient at characterizing soils and landscape evolution, paleo-environment reconstruction, and determining the relative degree of post-depositional alteration for sedimentary deposits.  He provides an interdisciplinary approach and has worked successfully with project team members to solve geological, engineering, archaeological, and resource management problems.  He is adept at developing and managing projects utilizing methods that are both cost-effective and solution oriented.
